This Year’s Diss Carnival Committee are excited to announce that this year’s theme will be “Water Wonderland”. We want to celebrate our town’s greatest attraction, The Mere. The Mere, and water itself, is symbolised on nearly all town crests and emblems, it defines our great town. The theme opens up many a watery interpretation, and we hope to see everything from Mermaids and Pirates, to Shoals of fish, Whales and Canoeists!
Last year’s Carnival was such a success that organisers want to make sure that this year’s Carnival is bigger and better. We are looking to have more food stalls this year, as well as new and exciting attractions for all to enjoy. The Committee are also adamant that the Carnival should remain a FREE event, and as such, will be working hard to encourage the local businesses and residents to get involved, and be part of their town’s big event. We are looking for stallholders, service providers, sponsors, procession entrants, teams for the “Diss Carnival Games” event and lots of volunteers to help out on the day.
The Carnival Committee are now taking bookings for all aspects of the Carnival, and will be revealing news of this year’s attractions over the next few months via their Facebook page, twitter and website, as well as via local papers and Park Radio.
