In 2008, Diss Carnival was brought back to life after being absent from the town for many years. It featured run up events including a disco evening in which the Carnival Queen and attendants were chosen by a panel of judges. Charlotte Cox was awarded the prize, and lead the procession in style in a horse drawn carriage!
The event also featured the East Anglian Working Newfoundlands demonstrating dog rescues in a watery display in the Mere; Morris Dancers, Tug of War and plenty of Fancy Dress!
Ex-Carnival Co-ordinator Dorreen Collins has kindly uploaded the 2008 programme to the Carnival Archive, which can be viewed here.
We also have a selection of photographs from the parade in our archive that we believe were taken by Photo Elite in the Town Centre. See someone you recognise? Got a Carnival memory you want to share? Head over to our Facebook to join in, or drop us a line.
